D'Banj reacts to being Kenya Moore's 'fake African Prince Boyfriend'
Foreign media has never seemed to get their facts right when reporting Nigerian and now her celebrities.
The UK Daily Mail reported an arrangement with between former Miss USA and Reality TV Star Kenya Moore and D'Banj where he is said to have been paid 40,000 USD to act as her boufriend in an episode of her reality TV show, The Real Housewife of Atlants. Backed by claims from a 'paid' ex boyfriend that insisted that the romantic relationship between D'banj and Miss Kenya is Fauxmance.
The article went on to say: 'Koko Master: D'Banj, who splits his time between Nigeria, the UK and Lagos, is known for his playboy lifestyle as well as his music. He calls girls who are good in bed 'kokos'' calling him a 'legendary womanizer and his koko condom as a testament.
A call put across to D'Banj's mobile was answered but on asking his reaction to the story, the phone line went dead. A call to his rep, Tony Nwakalor was not as futile. He reacted, saying:
“I would not say anything about this, I am D'banj’s Business manager and not his mouth piece, that is the job of his publicist." Mr. Nwakalor who must have one too many run in with pressmen further lamented: “The last time I was called by a rep of Punch newspaper and I thought I was talking to a normal human being and the next thing I was quoted all over blogs. Please sir call his publicist.

A close contact to the singer and DB records shed more light on what is going on, saying the report might have been correct about the 'relationship' story and that the deal with D'Banj was more of a business deal behind closed doors in which both parties would appear on each other project on different capacities to boost the publicity. Kenya Moore had come to Nigeria to host D'Banj’s concert last year and it was D'Banj’s turn to 'return the due'. He did not reveal what the figures were but insisted that Kenya and D'Banj’s relationship has and will be business.
